Uploading Files

Complete guide to uploading audio and video files to Syncpoly using various methods.

Upload Methods

1. Drag & Drop

The easiest way to upload files is by dragging and dropping them directly onto the upload area.

  1. Navigate to the home page
  2. Locate the upload area (large dashed box)
  3. Drag your audio or video file from your computer
  4. Drop it onto the upload area
  5. Upload will begin automatically

2. Browse Files

Use the file browser to select and upload files from your computer.

  1. Click the "Browse Files" button in the upload area
  2. Navigate to your file in the file explorer
  3. Select the file you want to upload
  4. Click "Open" to start the upload

3. Upload from URL

Upload videos directly from YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, or Instagram by pasting the URL.

  1. Click the "From URL" tab in the upload area
  2. Paste the full URL of the video
  3. Click "Transcribe" to begin processing
  4. The system will download and process the video automatically

Supported Platforms: YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram. The video must be publicly accessible.

Supported Formats

Audio Formats

  • MP3: Most common audio format, widely supported
  • WAV: Uncompressed audio format, high quality

Video Formats

  • MP4: Standard video format, audio will be extracted automatically
  • Video URLs: YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram links

File Size Limits: File size limits depend on your subscription plan. Free plans have smaller limits, while premium plans support larger files. The system will notify you if your file exceeds your plan limits.

Understanding the Upload Process

After you upload a file, it goes through several stages before your transcript is ready. You can track progress using the upload indicator in the header.

1. Pending Upload

Your file is queued and waiting to be processed.

2. Uploading

The file is being uploaded to secure servers. Progress is shown as a percentage.

3. Converting

For video files, the audio is being extracted. This step is skipped for audio files.

4. Processing

The audio is being transcribed using AI technology. This is the longest stage.

5. Completed

Your transcript is ready! You'll receive a notification and can view it immediately.

Troubleshooting

Upload Failed

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify the file format is supported
  • Ensure the file isn't corrupted
  • Check if you've exceeded your usage limits
  • Try uploading a smaller file to test

URL Upload Not Working

  • Ensure the video is publicly accessible
  • Verify the URL is from a supported platform
  • Check that the URL is complete and correct
  • Some videos may be restricted or unavailable
