Learn how to interact with your transcripts using AI chat, generate quizzes, extract action items, and get the most value from your content.

Chatting with Your Transcript

The AI chat feature allows you to have interactive conversations about your transcript content. The AI understands the full context of your transcript and can answer questions, provide summaries, and explain concepts.

How to Start a Chat:

  1. Open your transcript - Navigate to the transcript page by clicking on it from your transcripts list
  2. Scroll to the chat interface - The chat area is located at the bottom of the transcript page
  3. Type your question - Enter your question in the chat input field at the bottom
  4. Send your message - Press Enter or click the send button to submit your question
  5. View the response - The AI will analyze your transcript and provide a detailed answer

Note: Chat access requires a premium subscription plan. Free plans have limited or no chat access. Check your plan features in Settings.

What Can You Ask?

The AI assistant can answer a wide variety of questions about your transcript. Here are examples of effective questions:

Content Questions

  • "What did the speaker say about X?"
  • "Explain the main point at 15:30"
  • "What topics were discussed?"
  • "Who mentioned Y?"

Summaries

  • "Summarize the first 10 minutes"
  • "What are the key takeaways?"
  • "Give me a brief overview"
  • "What are the main points?"

Analysis

  • "What themes are discussed?"
  • "What are the main arguments?"
  • "What conclusions were reached?"
  • "Analyze the discussion"

Specific Information

  • "When did they mention X?"
  • "What time did they discuss Y?"
  • "Find all mentions of Z"
  • "What was said about topic A?"

Pro Tip: The AI maintains context throughout your conversation. You can ask follow-up questions like "Tell me more about that" or "What does that mean?" and the AI will understand what you're referring to.

Generating Quizzes and Questions

You can automatically generate interactive quizzes and assessments from your transcript content. The AI creates questions based on the key topics, concepts, and information discussed.

How to Generate Questions:

  1. Open the chat interface - Navigate to your transcript page and scroll to the chat area
  2. Request question generation - Type a request like:
    • "Generate 5 multiple-choice questions about this transcript"
    • "Create a quiz covering the main topics"
    • "Make 10 true/false questions"
    • "Generate questions about [specific topic]"
  3. Wait for generation - The AI will analyze your transcript and create questions
  4. Questions appear in chat - Generated questions will be displayed in the chat interface
  5. View in Questions panel - Click the question icon (top-right) to see all questions in a dedicated panel

Question Types:

  • Multiple Choice: Questions with 4 answer options (A, B, C, D). One correct answer with explanations.
  • True/False: Simple true or false questions based on factual statements from the transcript.
  • Short Answer: Open-ended questions where you type your answer. The AI evaluates your response.

Viewing and Answering Questions

Once questions have been generated for your transcript, you can view and answer them in a dedicated Questions panel.

Accessing the Questions Panel:

  1. Look for the question icon - On the transcript page, find the question icon button in the top-right corner (next to the Transcript button)
  2. Click the icon - The icon only appears if questions exist for that transcript
  3. Panel slides in - A panel will slide in from the left side of the screen
  4. Browse questions - Scroll through all available questions
  5. Load more - If there are many questions, use the "Load More" button to fetch additional pages

Answering Questions:

  1. Read the question - Each question displays the full question text and available answer options
  2. Select your answer - Click on an answer option (for multiple choice/true-false) or type your answer (for short answer)
  3. Get immediate feedback - The system immediately shows if your answer is correct or incorrect
  4. View explanation - For incorrect answers, you'll see the correct answer and an explanation
  5. Visual feedback - Correct answers show a green background, incorrect answers show red

Note: Questions are saved per transcript. You can return to the same transcript later and continue answering questions. Your previous answers are remembered.

Extracting Action Items

Action items are tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups automatically extracted from your transcript. This is especially useful for meeting transcripts, interviews, and content that includes actionable items.

How to Extract Action Items:

  1. Open the chat interface - Navigate to your transcript page
  2. Request extraction - Type one of these requests:
    • "Extract action items from this transcript"
    • "What tasks were mentioned?"
    • "List all action items"
    • "What follow-ups are needed?"
  3. Review the results - Action items will appear in the chat with details like:
    • Description of the task
    • Priority level (if mentioned)
    • Due dates or deadlines (if mentioned)
    • Status information

Using Breakdowns for Action Items:

You can also generate a full breakdown which includes action items along with summaries and key points:

  1. Click "Generate Breakdown" on your transcript page
  2. The AI analyzes the entire transcript
  3. Action items are included in the breakdown along with:
    • Introduction and overview
    • Key bullet points
    • Main takeaways
    • Action items with details
    • Generated questions
